Standard seafood boil recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of lobster tails
  • 2 pounds of peeled shrimp
  • 2 pounds of crab legs
  • 2 pounds of corn on the cob, cut into halves
  • 2 pounds of red potatoes, quartered
  • 1 pound of smoked sausage, cut into chunks
  • 6 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 4 lemons, cut into halves
  • 2 tablespoons of seafood boil seasoning, 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. Salt and hot sauce to taste.

Instructions

First, you’ll want to start by filling a large pot with water until it is about three-quarters full, add Old Bay seasoning, garlic, and onion.  Wait until the water is brought to a boil, add the potatoes and sausages, and let it cook for 10 more minutes to infuse the added flavors into the pot. 

Next comes the fish. Place the lobster tails, crab legs, and shrimp into the pot. Make sure they are completely covered with liquid. Cook them for 5 to 8 minutes or until the lobster and crab become opaque and the shrimp turns pink.

Then add the corn on the cob or any clams mussels for an additional 5 minutes. The last thing to add is shrimp and sausage, which usually cook for 2-3 minutes. 

Once the vegetables and seafood are cooked, transfer them to a large serving platter or a newspaper-lined table for the authentic seafood boil experience.

How to make seafood boil sauce? After you drain the mixture, reserve two cups of the broth. Then mix the broth with hot sauce, salt to taste, and melted butter for extra tastiness. Pour it over the seafood mixture, and you’ve got yourself a perfect seafood boil.
